School Uniform

students are required to wear the school uniform each day of school. Montessori students
are required to wear uniforms as well. The students who are not in conformity with the uniform policy will be sent to the office. Parents will be called and asked to bring in a change of uniform. *The closed-toe shoe policy is a safety issue. Under no circumstances will students be allowed to wear open-toe shoes or sandals during regular school hours. The purpose of the uniform policy is to eliminate dress competition among students and help them focus on learning. Please support us in making this policy a success.
All male students must wear navy dress pants and plain light blue shirts with a collar. Students may wear plain navy or black sweaters.
Girls in 6th-8th grades wear navy or black jilbabs or abayas with a plain navy, black, or white hijab.

 

1) Montessori Girls:
• Navy blue Jumper
• Navy blue cardigan sweater for cold weather
• Light blue Collared shirt –long or short-sleeved or turtleneck. No Button-up shirts
• Navy blue sweatpants. No buttons or elastic around the bottom of the legs
• Navy blue Leggings
• No Tights
• No Hoodies

2) Montessori Boys:
• Navy blue sweatpants. No buttons or elastic around the bottom of the legs. /No slacks
• Light blue official school shirt –long or short-sleeved or turtleneck. No Button up shirts
• Navy blue cardigan-sweater for cold weather
• White/Black socks
• Black dress shoes for the classroom
• No Hoodie

3) Girls Kg- 4th   
• Regular Uniform Hijab (required for 4th grade and up) – white, black, or navy blue (applies to 

the under pieces as well)



5) Cardigan/Sweater 

• Navy blue, black or white (jackets not permitted in class)

4 ) Girls’ 5th and Up  
• Navy or black jilbab or abaya with a plain navy, black, or white hijab
• Plain navy, black, or white sweater
• No Hoodies

 

6) Boys KG-8th grade
• Pants –
o Navy blue dress pants only
o No denim or shorts
• Shirt—
o Light blue school polo shirt
o Long or short-sleeved shirt or turtleneck for cold weather
• Shoes—
o No sandals
• Sweaters
o Plain navy, black, or white
o No Hoodies

Color Days
Every other Friday or as otherwise announced, the students will be allowed to attend school in a color dress. All students are expected to adhere to appropriate Islamic dress even during color days. Girls in grades 6-8 may wear a jilbab or abaya of any color with a hijab of any color. No sandals are permitted. Boys in grades K-8 may wear dress pants of any color and a collared shirt of any color. Non-tight jeans and T-shirts are allowed. Girls in K-3 may wear any loose color pants and a shirt reaching below the waist.
Girls in 4-5th grades may also wear a dress or long shirt that reaches below the knee with tights, leggings, or snug-fitting pants.

Dress Code Penalty:
1st offense: The parents will be called to bring a change of uniform. The student will lose the next Color Day privilege.
2nd offense: Besides the above, the students may be excluded from recreational field trips for the remainder of the semester and/or be assigned one hour of Community Service.
